Trauma-Sensitive Schools

Course Description

Dr. Sollom will provide background research on our response to trauma and the strategies that can help foster resiliency and hope across all three tiers of support. Classroom educators will learn the importance of community circles and how these circles of trust can be both preventive and restorative. Educators will have the opportunity to practice these community circles and learn a variety of social-emotional learning strategies that teach mindful awareness, emotion coaching, solution-focused problem-solving, and conflict resolution. Educators will leave this workshop with the knowledge of what a trauma-sensitive school is and how to implement a variety of strategies that promote resiliency within the school.
